Patrick Sir started playing with rope in 1955 and, as a Cub/Boy Scout that could not swim at the time, He was assigned the two tasks of rope/knot tying and fire starter. As it turns out those two areas are highly prized avocations in the BDSM world. By the Time He got to the U. S. Navy He had learned to swim but there were bigger ropes, or lines, in the Navy to play with. It was then Patrick discovered decorative wrapping with rope.

A few years out of school Patrick Sir got a letter from Brian Tarsis, an old college friend, who happened to be the editor of "Bondage Life". At the time Brian was married to Chealsea Pfeiffer, then another old college friend who is now another bondage legend. Patrick Sir assisted Brian and Chealsea on a shoot or two when on vacation in the Los Angeles area.

When Patrick Sir moved to Los Angeles He went to work at Harmony Publications in the Mail room. Of course he had tied many a female by then but that was for fun and not for publication. He still ties for fun and does rigging occasionally for bondage productions, but only for pure fun and excitement. His style is shibari-like, but not official shibari.

Patrick Sir's lessons are generally to share the knowledge of the sensual nature of the medium and the personal connections rope makes with its practitioners. After 50 + years of practice you could say He has it down well.
